ELIXIR is a pan-European research infrastructure organisation that experienced a period of intense rapid growth in 2021. Led by CEO Dr Niklas Blomberg, the organisation needed to consolidate its foundations to support its expanding team and broader community.


The Challenge


Following rapid growth, ELIXIR's senior leadership recognised an urgent need to define and articulate a clear mission, identity, and values — ensuring the whole organisation could align around a common purpose and direction.


Our Approach


Cambridge MC delivered a structured, multi-phase programme across 12 months, beginning with a bespoke two-day Mission Clarity workshop for the 8-person Senior Leadership Team. This was followed by further workshops to cascade values throughout the wider organisation, supported by 1:1 coaching, group exercises, and facilitated strategy sessions.


Outcomes



The engagement delivered genuine clarity of mission and a well-defined values framework that became embedded across the organisation. Consensus on strategic direction contributed to significant grant success, and the values were effectively communicated throughout ELIXIR by their internal communications team, enabling lasting, meaningful organisational change.
